We’ve partnered with local florist Eva Doxtator, owner and lead designer of Virgo Tendencies. She’s an Indigenous-Latina artist creating thoughtful, beautiful bouquets with real care. When you grab one, you’re supporting local artistry and real craft.

Juneteenth reminds us: freedom is not a moment — it’s a movement.
Today, we honor the end of slavery in the U.S. while recognizing that the fight for liberation is far from over. Our neighbors, families facing ICE raids, and undocumented communities across the country are still living in fear.
Here in South LA, where Black and Brown communities are deeply connected, we know:

Public Transport:
From downtown Los Angeles, take the Metro Red Line towards North Hollywood and get off at Vermont/Santa Monica station. Then transfer to bus 204 or 204X towards Athens and get off at the Vermont/Athens stop. Walk south for two blocks to find the café on your left.
Driving/Parking:
Take I-10 West towards Los Angeles and exit on Vermont Avenue. Turn left on S Vermont Ave and continue south for approximately 2 miles. The café will be located on your left-hand side. Parking is limited, but there are some street parking spaces available nearby. It is recommended to arrive early or use a ride-sharing service if possible.
