Family-Owned Since 1997
👨🍳 Meet the Althaus family — the heart (and hands) behind Basilic Restaurant.
For 27 years, we’ve been stirring, plating, polishing, laughing (and sometimes even crying!) our way through restaurant life on Balboa Island — one Swiss-French dish at a time. From Chef Bernard’s garden-grown herbs 🌿 to Arlette’s flowers 🌸 and Loïc’s touch of design ✨ — every corner of Basilic holds a piece of our family.
We’re small (just like our dining room), but our love for what we do has filled nearly three decades of evenings with good food, great wine, and the kind of stories (and boy do we have some good ones) that only happen in family-run kitchens.
To our longtime guests — merci for growing with us.
To our new followers — bienvenue, welcome to the table 💛
