All that Super El Niño talk has us feeling a bit tropical. Toasted Coconut with Coffee Carmel has just hit the gelato case! We toasted up some coconut and infused our Straus milk and cream with it for 72 hours. We then created a strong espresso caramel and swirled it through the finished gelato!

Blackberry Cheesecake. Our award winning cheesecake is transformed to have a house-made blackberry swirl with toasted buttery Biscoff cookie crumble. It’s pretty magical if we don’t say ourselves!

Dutch Apple Pie!!!!
An organic cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and vanilla bean gelato with our house made apple pie filling and oat dark brown muscavado sugar streusel swirled throughout. It’s fall in a cup!!!

Inspired by our love for Dolly Parton and Tim Curry we are introducing three new gelato recipes this weekend.
“Stop Eating My Sesame Cake”. A quote made famous by Tim in the movie Congo inspired this Black Sesame Gelato with chunks of our own house made sesame tea cake.
Dolly’s Peanut Butter Pie. We took Dolly’s own recipe for Peanut Butter Pie and balanced it into a dreamy gelato. Organic peanut butter, vanilla bean, cream cheese gelato with chocolate cookie pie crust, Valrhona dark chocolate flakes and whipped cream.
Dolly’s Banana Pudding. Did you know Dolly’s favorite dessert was Banana Pudding? Well, we took her recipe and made it into a dreamy gelato. Our version is an organic custard style vanilla bean gelato with house made banana puree, house made vanilla wafers and whipped cream. We added some lemon to our puree to make it pink to capture that Dolly personality we all love!

Vanilla Sea Salt Caramel! A labor of love! First we caramelize organic sugar, let it harden, break it into shards and pulverize it to a powder! Next we mix it with Strauss organic milk, cream, Madagascar vanilla beans and Maldon sea salt flakes. Finally we pasteurize our recipe then freeze it, place it in a blast freezer to keep away those nasty ice crystals. The end result? Something caramely sweet and slightly salty! Your taste buds will thank you!

It’s time to take off on this gelato wave! Hokey Pokey is back! An organic vanilla bean gelato with shards of house made honeycomb toffee). We also have a delightfully summery orange and pistachio (organic orange and vanilla bean gelato with crushed California pistachios)! 🤘🍀🐶🍨

Double Espresso Cake. An espresso gelato (made with ELEVATOR COFFEE counterweight blend), with chunks of chocolate espresso cake that we made with valrhona dark chocolate and elevator espresso, valrhona dark chocolate shards and dollops of Maldon sea salt whipped cream. This creation was the result of some mad brainstorming of Marina! Make sure you thank her for a dreamy flavor!

For those driving, Lucky Dog Gelato is located on South El Camino Real in San Clemente. Take Interstate 5 and exit at Avenida Palizada. Turn left onto Avenida Palizada and then right onto South El Camino Real. There is street parking available in the surrounding area.
