It’s with a heavy heart that we need to put this information out there and blast certain individuals for their horrible actions, but enough is enough. This year has brought an increase in crime and unfortunately our family business keeps getting hit. From a bounced $1,200 catering order check, to an increase in credit card chargebacks, to a customer literally running out with a box of food worth over $100 without paying, to constantly getting broken into and items stolen, to now a customer placing a $250 delivery order and refusing to pay my driver….As for what happened tonight, we just don’t know what to do anymore. We called the police when an individual by the name of Emily West Martau from Azusa placed a $250 delivery order with items ranging from multiple appetizers, pastas, drinks and desserts yet closed the door on my driver without paying her the cash they stated they’d pay upon delivery. This person had the audacity to call the restaurant claiming everything was wrong with the order and she was bringing it back. She never showed up. In fact, my driver never left her house so she lied that she took the food back. Once the cops showed, she first claimed it was all wrong. Then she claimed she took it back. Once we told the cops our surveillance footage proved she never returned anything, they asked her for payment and she offered a check but claimed she couldn’t pay with her debit card cause it was frozen. Why would we accept a check from her then? She said she had the cash when she placed the order but no longer had the cash? The cops claimed they couldn’t arrest her and it was a civil matter. They’d report it to the DA and it was up to them to pursue misdemeanor charges or not. More info on our page.

When will this end? When will these people be brought to justice? We’ve filed police reports but not much happens. Charges have been filed for the bounced catering check, but doubt we’ll ever see that money.

This is what’s wrong with today’s society. These people know how to scam businesses and don’t face any repercussions for their actions. People will purchase things then call their credit card companies and claim fraud. The money is immediately taken out of our business account without a chance to show proof they purchased and consumed it. We don’t accept checks from new customers, yet the cops used that as an excuse to not arrest her claiming we denied the form of payment she offered.
Pretty soon there won’t be any small business left because our local and state governments are not doing enough to protect us.
We’re sharing pictures and videos of the recent culprits. Beware of these individuals as they may do the same to you!
Do better people.
