Last year we drove to Ayutthaya from Bangkok with my Auntie and Uncle and cousins. And on the side of the dusty road in this ancient capital was a woman selling her famous Roti Sai Mai, a sugary delicacy, where thin crepes are paired with a stringy version of cotton candy. It looks weird and kinda like the hair of a Barbie doll. But tastes way better. The owner of the shop was this Muslim lady, who was so kind and generous that she gave me some shrimp chips. Above her was all of her Michelin plaques going back at least ten years. She saw how interested I was in her products that she ask me to watch the workers pull sugar. If you ever go it’s called Roti Sai Mai Aberdeen-Pranom Sangaroon.
Before I left she handed me dehydrated shrimp chips called Kao Krieb Goong. For this pic they are fried and tossed by .conejo.azul and were exceptionally good. I wish I had more!
Can’t wait to go back to Thailand.

Mom wore the medal on Tuesday and she got mango 🥭 on it while making mango sticky rice. But couldn’t make me happier seeing her wear it. Bringing this one home to my family and to my team has been great honor and privilege.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to our friends and great supporters, y’all know who you are.

What people say
Thai restaurants are known for their bold and flavorful dishes that leave your taste buds craving for more. Anajak Thai, located on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles, is a prime example of a Thai restaurant that has been serving up delicious Bangkok-style food for over 32 years. The original owner, Chef Ricky, has created a menu that includes mouth-watering dishes such as Panang curry, Thai BBQ chicken, and his famous ribs.
What sets Anajak Thai apart from other Thai restaurants is its warm and inviting atmosphere. It's no wonder why it has become a Sherman Oaks favorite for over three decades. The team at Anajak Thai is dedicated to providing exceptional service to their guests who they consider an extended family. They recently expressed their gratitude to their guests on social media, thanking them for their continued support.
Anajak Thai also offers unique dishes such as Dungeness Crab Fried Rice and Maine Lobster a la Curry Crab a la Parilla a la Anajak that are sure to impress even the most discerning palates. Their wine program is also noteworthy, with an origin story that began with the owner's friendship with John Cerasulo "an art refugee" from NYC.
Overall, Anajak Thai is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking to experience authentic Bangkok-style cuisine in a welcoming environment. With its extensive menu and exceptional service, it's no surprise why it has remained a favorite among locals for over three decades.
