We’ll be ‘cupping’ (slurping from spoons) 3 of our coffees side by side on Saturday at our Pine Ave location along with the local vendor market day that will be going on. We’ll be doing it twice: starting at 10am and again starting at 11:30. The first 10 people to arrive will get the full educational/spoon wielding experience, but we’ll also have tastings of the same coffees on the side and available for everyone else after the first 10. Free! Come join us! Ask us questions! Ponder the universe. Throw down your most esoteric tasting notes without judgement. See you!!

The only thing in shorter supply than our social media presence is this fabulous coffee from Ecuador that just landed. We’ll only be selling bags of it at our shops, and not online because we only have about 100 pounds of it. The coffee is from Finca Maputo where we’ve been sourcing coffees since Andrew visited way back on his first origin trip ever. Their coffees have been personal favorites. So good that once you drink through what you have it often leaves you a little haunted until you can get next year’s crop. Green tea, hibiscus and an orange juicy-ness. We will be drinking this year’s coffee from Finca Maputo in remembrance of Wade Windsor, our friend and co-long-beach-coffee-builder who passed this year, but was with Andrew on that first Ecuador trip. Wish you were here to share it with us, Wade.

We’re heartbroken to have lost a friend, Wade, last week, who did so much to shape the coffee community and was such a joy to work with and be around. He leaves behind his wife, Lindsay, and two young boys, Wyatt and Waylan. We wanted to let anyone know who may feel compelled to help out. Link in our bio.

We’re looking for an experienced baker (preferably at least 3 years, and lead experience is a plus) for 30-40 hours weekly. We’re a small team that works hard to put out a tightly curated range of creative, somewhat seasonal, and delicious pastries in a way that compliments and parallels our coffee program. Wade is part of the bedrock that the Long Beach coffee scene has been built on. If you’ve been around Long Beach coffee long enough, you know the debt we owe and the crazy amount of work/stress/tears he and his wife, Lindsay, invested in the coffee community here. He and his family are now facing some tragic health diagnoses and could use our help. If you know them or care about the beautiful coffee community that exists in Long Beach today, please take a moment to read their go-fund-me page, take a look at their legacy of and consider helping.
