Did you know that Filipinos have a 430+ year history in America? ✨
In October 1587, Indigenous sailors and navigators from Luzon, Philippines, working aboard Spanish trading ships, came ashore from the Nuestra Señora de Esperanza at what is now Morro Bay, California.
But our history is more than the years that have passed. For more than four centuries, Filipinos across the Americas have faced struggle, hardship, and resilience. We honor those who came before us and the paths they forged, while celebrating the Filipino Americans who continue to make history today. Because we know we are not the first, and we certainly won’t be the last. We are part of this history, and we are part of this story. ♥️
