Before our Gardena HQ opened last October, all of our coffee was roasted in the small production space at our Redondo Beach location.
Today, Gardena gives our production team more room to roast, pack, and keep things moving behind the scenes.
A lot has changed in a year, but the work is still the same: roast each coffee with care and keep raising the standard.✨

July 2026 marked 10 years of The Boy & The Bear.
Ten years ago, our founder, Andres Pineros, opened the doors to our first café in Redondo Beach, not knowing exactly where the journey would lead. What followed were long days, a lot of hard work, and the beginning of something much bigger than we could have imagined.
We are incredibly grateful to the Redondo Beach community for welcoming us in 2016 and supporting us from the very beginning. Without that support, The Boy & The Bear would not be what it is today. Thank you for showing up, coming back, and believing in what we were building.
Today, we have six cafés open and operating, and we’re working hard to open two more locations by the end of this year.

To get to the coffee shop from Redondo Beach, you can take Pacific Coast Highway northbound. If you prefer to use public transportation, you can take the 130 bus line and alight at the nearest bus stop along the PCH. For those driving their own cars, there is a parking lot available near the coffee shop. Just turn right at the intersection before reaching the coffee shop and follow the signs leading to the parking lot.
