A little table-side time travel for Throwback Thursday.
This week we’re heading back to 1955 with Oysters Rockefeller, a bacon-wrapped filet over mashed potatoes with red w**e mushroom demi-glace, and a Tom Collins to finish the picture.
I didn’t taste this one on camera. I just wanted to show you what the night looks like before it hits the table, because the fun of these throwback menus is seeing an era come back one plate at a time.

High Thai’d Tuesdays at BeachLife Riviera. 🌴
This week we’re trying the G*i Yang. A Thai grilled chicken over bok choy and rice, with a sweet-savory glaze that works its way into every bite.
You get that char on the chicken, freshness from the bok choy, and rice there to catch all that sauce.
The Tuk Tuk Platter is available too, with Thai beef skewers, moo dang pork, Thai fish cakes, panang shrimp and pickled cucumbers, served with spicy peanut sauce, sweet chili and yuzu aioli.
High Thai’d Tuesday is your excuse to try something new this week.

You walk in off Catalina, find a table, and before long there’s a mimosa in front of you and a record spinning upstairs.
Then the food starts showing up.
Loco Moco, fish tacos, another round of bottomless mimosas, the DJ digging into the next record, and that point in the afternoon where nobody is really in a hurry to leave.

Tonight, we’re going back to 1981.
Bouchée scallops set atop flaky puff pastry with creamy velouté. Potato-crusted red snapper over celery root purée. And a bright green Midori Sour to make sure there’s absolutely no confusion about what decade we’re in.

BeachLife Riviera is now open on Mondays, which means one more night for a good meal, a glass of w**e, and something worth lingering over.
Shrimp pasta, fresh fish, tacos… not a bad way to ease into the week.

This week’s Throwback Thursday starts with bouchée scallops set atop puff pastry with creamy velouté, followed by potato-crusted red snapper over celery root purée.

Chicken Kiev hot out of the kitchen, a ’74 Spinach Salad on the side, a Harvey Wallbanger at the bar and 70s records spinning upstairs as the sun starts dropping.
That sounds like a pretty good way to spend an afternoon in Riviera Village.
