Local summer has a flavor, and this might be it.
We brought out the Tuk Tuk Platter, loaded with Thai beef skewers, moo dang pork, Thai fish cakes, panang shrimp, pickled cucumbers and sauces made for dipping, passing and going back for one more bite.
Then came this week’s Thai street noodles. Bright, savory, a little sweet, a little heat, with that fresh lime and cilantro finish that makes the whole plate feel right for a warm Riviera Village evening.
The best part is Tuesday is built for trying a little of everything. Small plates are $12, BeachLife and Aloha Mai Tais are $12, and the Tuk Tuk Platter serves 3 to 4 for $35.

Local summer is just getting started, and these flavors feel made for it.
I sat down with the Tuk Tuk Platter thinking I’d pick a favorite. Thai beef skewers, moo dang pork, fish cakes, panang shrimp, pickled cucumbers and all the sauces to drag everything through. Then this week’s Thai street noodles showed up and completely changed the conversation.
Bright, spicy, tangy, a little sweet. The kind of food that makes you want to keep passing plates around the table.

“Hi, it’s Penny…” and that’s pretty much how our brunch started.
A couple of bottomless mimosas, the vinyl DJ spinning on the deck, a Loco Moco we could not stop talking about, and fish tacos making their way around the table.
Nothing complicated. Just one of those really good Riviera Village afternoons where you order another round, stay a little longer than you planned, and remember why brunch is supposed to be fun.
