🎗️ Thank you Burbank Police Department for showcasing the Cancer Awareness vehicle at our fundraiser on Wednesday, October 21, at 5:30 p.m. at Tequilas Burbank, marking the fourth consecutive year of this special tradition.
Leticia Almaraz, owner of the balloon business whatthefirstnationz, will once again decorate the vehicle with beautiful balloons.
We invite all attendees to support Cancer Awareness by taking photos with the vehicle in honor of those who have battled or are currently battling cancer.

🩵 In celebration of our 10th Annual Cancer Awareness Event, themed “Some Are Gone, But None Are Forgotten,” we honor our third, individual who left a lasting legacy not only on our family but is the inspiration of our Cancer Awareness efforts.

Today, we share a tribute to Julie Elizabeth Franco.

Our loving sister, mother, aunt, and friend, was born on March 23, 1965, and gained her wings on March 5, 2021.

She is reunited with her beloved daughter, parents and sisters in heaven.

Julie bravely battled cancer for six years, never giving up or allowing it to define her. She faced every challenge with courage, strength, and determination.

Her beautiful smile, generous heart, and affectionate personality brought light to everyone around her. She lived boldly and proudly, always reminding others to “LIVE OUT LOUD.”

Julie loved swimming, relaxing at the beach, barbecues, and gathering with family. She shared a special bond with her siblings, nieces, and nephews, making each of them feel loved and important.

Her greatest purpose and strength were her three children, Breonda, Stephen, and Dominic, whom she lovingly called her “WHY.”

Julie began her career in the jewelry industry at seventeen and became a respected sales professional and manager. She later served as Vice President of Sales at Charles Garnier and worked as a Sales Associate for Tom Ferry. Her dedication, independence, work ethic, and love for people made her truly special.

Julie will forever be our hero, our inspiration, and our “WHY.” She will remain Forever in Our Hearts.

This year marks the 10th year we have come together to support cancer awareness and the Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Family Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank.

Cancer has touched many of our lives, bringing loss, fear, and uncertainty. Your tax-deductible donation, no matter the amount, helps provide hope, resources, and support to individuals and families affected by cancer.

At 16, I lost my mother to cancer, and years later, my father. In the past five years, our family has also lost two sisters, while other loved ones continue to battle this disease.

My sister Julie gave me permission to document her five-year cancer journey so her story might help others. Her experience, along with my other sister’s brief battle, showed me how differently cancer affects every person and family.

After losing my mother so young, I learned to cope with grief by doing something meaningful. That belief inspired our Cancer Awareness Fundraiser, which began in 2016.

I am grateful to everyone who has shared photos and stories to honor their loved ones, and to my husband Carlos, my sisters, my friend Ashley in Burbank who is also my Cancer Awareness partner, our friends, customers, and the Tequilas staff for their support.

We are honored to raise funds for the Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Family Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, where my sister Julie and Ashley received compassionate care.

As we approach our 10th year, we hope to continue to turn our loss into something meaningful for the community.
