Love & Salt

Love & Salt Love & Salt is a new American restaurant that offers Italian-inspired cuisine with a California soul. Located on Manhattan Beach Boulevard, the restaurant's story began with Cafe Pierre, a French restaurant that closed in 2014. The owner, Sylvie Gabriele, reopened the space in 2018 as Love & Salt, and executive chef Chris Feldmeier joined soon after to craft menus that reflect Southern California's vibrant setting. The approachable wine list and cocktail program make it the perfect spot for a night out near Manhattan Beach pier.

𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘳𝘢 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘳𝘢! Are we referring to our new brunch itself or the fact that the papes are picking up the news? Let’s go with both. 🗞️🍳😎

Thank you to My Travelling Circus writer Samantha Kuhr for her deep dive on the return of our Italian-meets-SoCal coast brunch to Love & Salt right here in downtown Manhattan Beach. She covers everything from our history (did you know this space was our family restaurant Café Pierre for 37 years) to her recommendations on what to order (a sky-high 5-egg breakfast sando, anyone?). Head to our bio link for the full scoop.

While some restaurants start with a menu, ours started with a belief—that food only needs two ingredients to be great: Love & Salt. 🤍🧂

It’s an ethos that has guided everything we’ve done since 2014, when our family transformed this space that had been home to the legendary Café Pierre for nearly 37 years. Rather than erase its history, we built on it, creating a restaurant rooted in hospitality and flavor, inspired by Italy, shaped by Southern California, and designed to become part of this generation’s Manhattan Beach memories.

From every handmade pasta and wood-fired pizza to our thoughtfully curated wines and cocktails, from brunch to dinner, from private parties to big celebrations, every detail reflects that same simple idea, our own namesake. When you begin with care, you don’t need much else.
