Happy May Day from all of us from Proof! We work hard every day at our little bakery to ensure that each of our workers are heard and empowered. It can sometimes be lot to juggle, but the opportunities we have to build trust, camaraderie, and ownership amongst workers are invaluable, especially in today’s world. Highlighting another item from our Easter menu today- this strawberry houjicha mochi cake! Made with Mochiko rice flour, coconut milk, houjicha, and roasted strawberries. It’s a textural delight with an earthy, sweet flavor and would make the perfect snacking cake for your holiday weekend.

We’re highlighting Japanese tomatoes from , which sit atop a generous portion of house made pesto featuring parsley, basil, spinach, garlic, and the same beautiful almonds we use in our almond financier and almond croissant!

The strawberry takeover continues with a pi day special this weekend only!! The filling is made with strawberries and meyer lemons which stand in sharp sweetness against the flaky rye dough surrounding it. Available Friday through Sunday, March 13-15.

Special announcement🗣️Thanks to one of our lovely Proof neighbors, we are going to be collaborating with for a food drive this week! From Sunday, 03/01 through Saturday 03/07, we will be a drop off site for any unperishable and unexpired food items you’d like to donate🥫🥫 From here, they’ll be picked up and taken to the West Valley YMCA, where they will be distributed to families affected by the ongoing ICE raids in LA. Look for this cute flyer (made by one of our bakers!) and the donation bin by our cold case starting tomorrow!🤝

Last Tuesday, we gathered for another General Assembly meeting in Frogtown! We played games, challenged ourselves to think outside the bread box, and brainstormed about how we can serve our communities better going forward.
Our amazing team has so many ideas for the future, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

Proof Bakery will be closing in solidarity with the nationwide general strike happening on Friday, January 30th. At our general assembly today, our worker-owners collectively decided to make the statement that we stand with our neighbors and community. Graphic from .informed

If you prefer driving, you can take the 2 Freeway and exit at Glendale Boulevard. There is free street parking available near the bakery but it could be limited during peak hours. Alternatively, there is a paid parking lot nearby as well.
