What people say

Wood and Water, located on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles, has garnered a variety of reviews from different newspaper critics. The most recent review by Los Angeles Times critic Bill Addison praises the restaurant for its seasonal and locally-sourced menu. Addison notes the "strapping" pizzas and "admirable" cocktails as standout items but also mentions some lackluster dishes. Overall, he describes his experience as "promising."

Another recent review by The Infatuation's Brant Cox raves about the fried chicken sandwich and lobster roll, stating they're some of the best in LA. Cox also commends the ambiance of the restaurant, calling it a "solid option for date night or dinner with parents."

However, not all reviews have been positive. Eater LA's Mona Holmes criticizes Wood and Water for its inconsistent execution, stating that some dishes were "spectacular" while others missed the mark entirely. She cites a lack of seasoning on several dishes as well as slow service.

On Yelp, customer reviews reflect mixed opinions about Wood and Water. Some rave about the creative menu and cozy atmosphere while others complain about high prices and underwhelming food quality. One reviewer writes, "The food was good but not great considering the price point," while another says, "One of my favorite places to eat in LA."

Overall, it seems that Wood and Water has received mostly positive reviews from critics but opinions from customers are more divided. It may be worth a visit to see if this farm-to-table restaurant lives up to its hype.
