Welcome the New Year with Kachin Udon

From January 1st to January 3rd,
Meiji Seimen and OkiDoki by Meiji will be serving Kachin Udon, a traditional Japanese New Year dish.

Kachin Udon is eaten at the beginning of the year to symbolize strength, renewal, and good health.
The name comes from “chikara” (strength), and the grilled mochi represents energy, resilience, and vitality for the year ahead.

Our udon noodles are homemade using all natural ingredients imported from Japan.
They are thick, smooth, and satisfyingly chewy — crafted to keep their texture even in hot broth, a key feature of authentic Kansai-style udon.

The dashi is made from premium kelp and three types of bonito, carefully extracted to create a broth that is clean, gentle, and deeply umami-rich.
It enhances the noodles and toppings without overpowering them.

Topped with grilled mochi, fish cake, tender chicken, shiitake mushroom, and fresh mitsuba leaf,
this bowl is meant to warm the body, calm the mind, and start the year with intention.
