The heart of Los Angeles still beats on Olvera Street. ❤️

For generations, families have kept our traditions alive through food, music, art, and culture in the very place where Los Angeles began. Today, many of these legacy businesses are fighting to survive after years of economic hardship, reduced tourism, and mounting rent obligations.

This GoFundMe was created to help preserve the merchants and traditions that make Olvera Street more than a destination — it’s a living piece of LA history. From family-run restaurants to artisan shops passed down through generations, every contribution helps protect the cultural heartbeat of our city.

We ask our community to continue showing up the way you always have:

Los Angeles will soon welcome the world for the World Cup and Olympics. Let’s make sure the authentic story of our city is still here to welcome them.

📣 We stand in solidarity with the peaceful protesters raising their voices for the immigrant community in Los Angeles. 💪🏽

At La Luz del Dia, our story is an immigrant story. My grandfather came to L.A. from Zináparo, Michoacán, and my grandmother from Caborca, Sonora. They built this restaurant—and a life—through hard work, faith, and deep love for their heritage. 🇲🇽❤️

Many of the legacy businesses on Olvera Street were founded by immigrant families just like ours. These spaces are living history—built with sweat, sacrifice, and generations of dreams.

We do not support vandalism or destruction of property. Graffiti and damage do not represent the heart of our community. We believe in peaceful protest, unity, and progress without harm.

Let’s lift each other up, protect the places that carry our stories, and continue to build a future that honors all who came before us. 🌻
