Friday Flashback!

Before the w**e. Before the community. Before 20 Years of Pour Decisions.

Every great story has to start somewhere. Before Twisted Vine became the place we know today, there were bare walls, exposed brick, plywood, construction dust, an ABC application in the window, and apparently a baby supervising the whole operation. These photos take us back to the very beginning, when Chris and Jessica were building more than a w**e bar. They were creating a place they hoped people would want to come back to again and again. Twenty years later, those unfinished walls have held a whole lot of w**e, music, friendships, celebrations, first dates, anniversaries, late nights, and probably a few decisions best blamed on the w**e. We thought Anniversary Month was the perfect excuse to dig through the archives and share a little bit of where it all began.

We’re excited to kick off our 20th Anniversary Month by celebrating the incredible w**eries that have been part of the Twisted Vine story over the years. Each week, we’ll be featuring a different w**ery that has helped make our journey so special.

Some w**eries are more than just w**es we’ve poured, they’re part of the Twisted Vine story.

Owner and w**emaker Julie Johnson of Tres Sabores has been an incredible friend and partner of Twisted Vine for many years. Her passion for w**e, community, and Napa Valley is something we’ve always admired, and it simply wouldn’t feel like our 20th Anniversary Month without celebrating Julie and the Tres Sabores crew.

For this week’s anniversary feature, we’re pouring the 2023 Tres Sabores Cabernet Franc, a w**e we are excited to share by the glass for a limited time. Come raise a glass to 20 years of great w**e, great people, and the relationships that have made Twisted Vine what it is today.

Twenty years. It’s honestly a little crazy to even say that. As we head into our 20th Anniversary month, there are going to be plenty of opportunities to celebrate Twisted Vine, our w**e, our food, our incredible staff, and all of you who have supported us along the way. But I couldn’t start this month without first celebrating the person who has been behind so much of it from the very beginning: my wife, Jessica.
Jessica is truly the driving force behind our Twisted family. She created our W**e Club. She helped come up with the name Twisted Vine. She has dreamed up ideas, fine-tuned recipes (yes, including that baked brie), supported every crazy plan, and somehow kept everything and me moving forward for twenty years.
What started as a dream became something much bigger than we ever imagined: two decades of w**e, friendships, memories, and a community that has become part of our family. And none of that happens without Jess.
Her love, creativity, patience, support, and belief in what we were building have been the rock behind Twisted Vine. There is a piece of her in so much of what you have experienced here over the last 20 years.

So before the anniversary parties, throwback favorites, special bottles, and all the fun we have planned this month begin, I simply want to say Cheers to Jessica! Thank you for believing in this little dream 20 years ago and for being such a huge part of the reason we’re still pouring today.
And to everyone who has walked through our doors over the years, thank you. We hope you’ve enjoyed this journey as much as we have.
Here’s to 20 years of Twisted Vine and everything still to come.
