the Sirens are half-woman, half-bird creatures who are known for their irresistible singing voice, which they use to lure sailors to their deaths. In Homer’s Odyssey, Odysseus and his crew encounter the Sirens on their voyage home and narrowly avoid the danger of their song. Odysseus instructs his crew to plug their ears with wax to prevent hearing the Siren’s song, while he has himself tied to the mast so he can hear it without steering the ship astray. Antinous was a prominent suitor of Penelope, the queen of Ithaca. He was known for his deceptive charm hiding arrogance, lack of hospitality, and plotting violence against Telemachus, Odysseus’ son. Circe, an enchantress and goddess, she is the daughter of the sun god Helios and the Oceanid nymph P***e. Circe was renowned for her vast knowledge of potions and herbs. Through the use of these and a magic wand or staff, she would transform her enemies, or those who offended her, into animals. She lures Odysseus’s men to a fest where she transforms them into pigs to protect her Nymphs before Odysseus earns her respect and she restores his men and helps them continue their journey home. A sorbet of Cherry, raspberry, strawberry, arbutus berry.
