WELCOME TO OUR FINAL 20 DAYS! 🌊🎉 And what better way to kick them off than with a little Throwback Thursday?!

Here’s a peek at what the infamous Wind & Sea Employee Christmas Parties looked like back in the late ’80s. 🎅🏼🥂 If you’ve ever worked here, you already know… some of the wildest stories in Wind & Sea history were born on these nights. 😂

Lucky for us, someone had the foresight to bring a camera! 📸 These photos give us a hilarious little glimpse into the parties, the people, the outfits, the hair, and the absolute chaos of Christmases past.

And look closely… 👀 Some of those familiar faces are actually our managers today—caught here as young spring chickens! 🐣🥹 It’s pretty special to see just how many years of their lives have been dedicated to this place and the Wind & Sea family. 🫶🏽

We’re down to our LAST 4 FRIDAYS at The Wind & Sea, so naturally… we had to dig into the archives. 👀📸

Feast your eyes on these absolutely INSANE photos from the legendary Wind & Sea + Harpoon Henry’s Employee Beach Parties of the 1980s! 🏖️🍹🕺🪩

The parties may be gone, but thankfully these photos survived to tell the tale… along with the haircuts, short shorts, colorful fashion choices, and what we can only assume were some VERY wild memories. 🤣

Our banquet room—normally filled with private parties, celebrations, and special gatherings—has officially been transformed into a Wind & Sea merch warehouse. 🌊👕💙

And honestly, we LOVE seeing our Wind & Sea swagger out in the wild. At the beach, grabbing groceries, out to dinner, on vacation…every time we spot you wearing our gear, it feels like a little piece of Wind & Sea will still continue to live on. 🥹

What better way to keep the memories alive than wearing them? You look GOOD in Wind & Sea merch. 😉❤️‍🔥🔥

We’re working hard to keep the styles coming and bring you even more ways to rep your favorite Dana Point institution. Thank you for keeping the love—and the logo—going. 🌊♥️

Thirty days ago, we were given our 60-day notice. Today, we’ve officially reached the halfway point—and honestly, we’re OVERWHELMED by the amount of love pouring in from our Dana Point community and beyond. ♥️

People are traveling from literally all over the world to help behind the scenes, work a few shifts, or simply sit down for their final Mai Tai. Alumni staff have flown in from across the globe or driven more than two hours just to come back and help for a few shifts. People have flown across the country to spend their final moments with us.

We feel so loved, so grateful, and so deeply touched knowing these four walls have meant so much to so many of you!!!

Because it was never really about the food or the drinks. IT’S ABOUT ALL OF YOU! 🫶🏽

It’s about Bob pouring his entire life into this place. Jay doing the exact same. It’s about servers, bartenders, cooks, and staff who have given 20, 30, 40+ years of their lives to Wind & Sea. It’s about loyal customers who have been coming for generations, bringing their children, grandchildren, first loves, best friends, and families along the way.

You are what makes Wind & Sea what it truly is.
(The great food, Mai-Tais, and that view are just a pretty incredible bonus. 🤩🌊🍹)

Thank you for showing up. Thank you for sharing your stories. Thank you for loving on our staff. Thank you for making these final days so incredibly special.

Today’s cloudy skies feel a little like our hearts as we enter the final 34 days at Wind & Sea. 🌥️💙

Lately we’ve been hearing stories of first loves, birthdays, celebrations of life, and last dinners shared with loved ones before they passed. Every story has reminded us that this place has always been about so much more than food and drinks—it’s been a place where life happens.

Hearing your memories has been incredibly touching and has given us a deeper WHY behind all the hours we’ve spent serving you and the people you love.

Thank you for letting us be a small part of your stories. We’ll cherish them long after these 34 days are over. 🥰

You asked, we listened. ❤️ Since the love (and the crowds!) just keep coming, we’re officially switching things up — we’re now open EVERY SINGLE DAY from ✨11AM✨–10PM through September 15!

That means more days, more lunches, more Mai Tais, more memories. 🌴🍹🐚

And the best part? We’re opening earlier! So come see us for lunch, happy hour, dinner, or just one more round at the bar.

For those traveling via public transport, you can take the Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA) bus line 91 or 926 to the Golden Lantern at Dana Point Harbor Dr stop. From there, it's just a short walk to the restaurant.
