Seeing our family’s story in Living Whittier Hills Magazine was a really humbling moment.
Maki Yaki Japanese Grill has been part of the Whittier community for over 20 years. My parents built this restaurant with so much heart, long days, and a deep love for serving people. I grew up in the restaurant and have been right there with them through the years, learning every part of the business and what it means to serve a community.
Now stepping into the next chapter and carrying the family business forward as the second generation is something I’m incredibly proud and grateful for.
Our family has also been fortunate to grow alongside our sister restaurant, Blue Fin Sushi & Teriyaki, which has been another part of our journey in sharing Japanese food with the community.
This past year has been a reminder that growth sometimes comes through change. Closing our Uptown location was a humbling experience, but it also opened the door to focus our energy on our Quad location and the opportunities ahead.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us through every season. Many of you have been dining with us for years, some even decades, and that kind of support is something we will never take for granted.
