MEET OUR NEW NURSERY! 🪴 It’s actually really hard to source native plants and you know what we decided to do? Build a nursery so that we don’t depend on anyone to be able to provide these plants for us! 🐝 We want to be able to provide native pollinator, friendly plants ourselves and so the South Bay Parkland Conservancy built this brand new nursery this week so that our pollinator initiative that we started three years ago can continue to thrive! This nursery will also provide plants for the critical work that the Southbay Parkland Conservancy does. We personally volunteer with the organization on our days off to help replace non-native species with native plants in public spaces and we can’t tell you what a joy it is to be with like-minded people who really care. 🌍 We feel so hopeful and driven when we are amongst people who share the same values as we do. Values of sustainability and a commitment to passing this planet down to our children and yours. ☀️ Hey, Sunshine Kitchen is so much more than a restaurant. It’s a community that’s committed to doing the right thing no matter how hard the challenge may be. Still buzzin’ from the 3 year anniversary party! Truth be told after the party we took a little time off to fill our cup, and we both went out to nature. We never got to thank you all properly for showing up so hard for us and the store! We are back and rejuvenated and excited to see your beautiful faces soon! Today is FREE PLANT 🪴 GIVEAWAY DAY! Today and every Monday we gift you pollinator plants 🐝 to help bees and butterflies thrive. They need our help! One in three bites of food is thanks to a pollinator 🦋 and without them our food supply and ecosystem is in trouble, which is why we launched our pollinator initiative with the South Bay Parkland Conservancy! Together we’ve gifted the community with over 4,000 plants, over 500 milkweed and more veggie seedlings than we could count. This is what local action looks like. It’s peaceful, and impactful. One of our beautiful customers made a mini 🎥 documentary about how, why and what we are trying to accomplish 🌍 by having this vegan sister business! You’ll learn more about how we created the pollinator initiative with South Bay Parkland Conservancy, and what goes wrong and how we’ve made it thus far. We can’t express our appreciation enough for the magnificent Casey Vera who used his own talent, resources, time, and passion to make this short! When we opened our doors 3 years ago we had no idea of the gifts we were about to receive from our community. The love you provide is tremendous and we promise to keep trying each day to give it right back! The mini doc lives on the About Us page of our website and is linked in our bio.
