The Boy Wonder… Years ago, after Pops (Pete)
Escovedo performed for Ventura Music Festival, he asked me to set up an after concert hang, which was held at what was formerly Wine Lovers.
I had heard trombonist John Egizi perform and I knew he was the second musician who should be on this show with a very famous sax player to be featured, who was also Music Director for Pete’s Orchestra.
Everyone was seriously impressed with the skills of this young man, who went on to study at the prestigious Berklee School of Music.
So it was great to hear from John, that he will be hosting his first jazz jam in Ventura County at the Copa Cubana Cuban restaurant tomorrow.
