For the past nine years, this little restaurant has been a well-known and respected name in Long Beach. As the sister restaurant to our Michelin-rated , Playa quickly established its own unique identity and gained numerous accolades. At one point, we were even recognized as one of the top restaurants in Long Beach, if not the top, from a foodie’s perspective. We were also the first Long Beach restaurant to be featured in the Los Angeles Times’ top 101 restaurants in L.A. list.
However, the seemingly endless construction of the center, followed soon after by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, finally brought our beloved restaurant to its knees. After many fond memories, sadly, we served Playa Amor’s final dinner service.
To all of Long Beach and our loyal clientele, we express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. Sometimes, difficult decisions must be made in order for better things to emerge.

To get to the Mexican restaurant located at Market Place in Long Beach, you can take the Blue Line or Green Line Metro towards Downtown Long Beach and get off at the exit closest to 2nd street. The restaurant is within walking distance from the station.
If you prefer driving, take the I-710 South and exit on Pico Ave. Turn right onto E Pico Blvd and then turn left onto Market Place. There is a parking lot available for customers to use.
