Who opens a fine dining joint in the middle of a pandemic? Well, we’re thinking about it. If you know us, you know this was supposed to come a decade from now in our retirement. However, btwn the tutelage from Two-Michelin ⭐️ ⭐️ and the generosity of and dear mentor , the timeline has shifted. We wanted to give you a place to celebrate and experience our creativity, safely, while we pursue the highest of standards. It is also about us continuing our mission of building a just and sustainable model for our collective team (in which we respect their work and their time). We hope as we explore this new venture, we will be able to build the current into even more of a community hub, providing more services and continuing to provide creative meals with high quality ingredients, everyday. We have a lot more to say but, first we need to go cook. A few PHENAKITE sneak peek tickets are left for this coming weekend. We cannot wait to build out this new home and share it with you all this holiday season. For now, our shop on Beverly is on hiatus but we have big announcements coming and will re-open those doors on 10/16. @ Second Home Hollywood

Five course weekend menu is here and ready for your weekend (pick-up at our place). Menu is a companion to Tuesday’s ekiben bento. No repeated dishes except for this lil’ porridge abalone number - so many of you reached out and asked us to put it on the weekend menu. It’s also a dish that would not have happened if Chef Niki didn’t school us on abalone and abalone liver. So much to be thankful for, share and celebrate. We’re coming out of this weekend realizing we need a good vacation from our long bad vacation. Read Chef Minh’s latest thoughts and eat a five course dinner with us. A the links in bio. Although it’s not mentioned anywhere, we have a vegetarian version (leave a message in the notes when ordering). No vegan, GF this week. We’re still thinking about the future of our shop, but for now we just need to go cook and help you celebrate the big and little things! Does the dinner really include dancing? Of course it does!!

Happy Juneteenth (tomorrow)! Thank you for buying out and our collab in record time. We adore and an honor to reflect and cook together, giving 100% of our proceeds to SUMMAEVERYTHANG Community Center who is feeding 600 families in South LA. Thank you Fairy Godmother Robin of for not only growing and providing us with rice, but handing us a donation (which we tried not to take) and said, “Not for you, for social justice.”

Alternatively, take the metro and get off at the Western station, which is about a 15-minute walk from the location. For driving/parking directions, from downtown LA, take the I-10 West freeway and exit at La Brea Avenue. Continue on La Brea until you reach Beverly Boulevard and turn left. There is public parking available nearby for those who are driving.
