I don’t know where to begin or what to say… I never thought I would have to write this. It pains me to make this announcement, because it’s a decision that wasn’t easy to make. I am sorry to announce that JiST Cafe is closing down.
This establishment has been around for years and undergone name changes in Little Tokyo.
I wanted to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for all the years you have supported me, my crew, and my family. A big thank you to all the people who have supported me during my combinations sales. It’s been an incredible journey, it saddens me that it has come to an end. I truly cannot express how grateful I am for everything. Thank you!

What people say
Jist Cafe is a breakfast and brunch restaurant that has been serving Little Tokyo since the 1920s. One of the best things about breakfast and brunch restaurants is the variety of dishes they offer, and Jist Cafe does not disappoint in this regard. They have a patio that is open on Thursdays through Sundays, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal outdoors. In addition, they offer take-out and delivery services for those who prefer to enjoy their meals at home.
One of the highlights of Jist Cafe's menu is Ba-chan's Chashu-Shumai Combo, which can be ordered on the first Wednesday of each month. This dish is so popular that pre-orders start one week prior to the pick-up date. The combination includes chashu (Japanese-style braised pork) and shumai (steamed dumplings), making it a perfect choice for those who love Japanese cuisine.
Jist Cafe also offers daily specials such as Ham Katsu Curry on Thursdays, which features slices of smoked ham in panko breading with a sunny side up egg sitting on rice in a pool of Japanese curry. And if you're looking for something sweet, their new pancakes - the Ore - are sure to satisfy your cravings.
Overall, Jist Cafe is an excellent choice for anyone looking for delicious breakfast and brunch options in Los Angeles. With its long history in Little Tokyo and its commitment to offering unique dishes like Ba-chan's Chashu-Shumai Combo, it's no wonder why this restaurant has become a local favorite.
