Dear Ube,
We love you. So happy to have you in our lives! đź’ś
Love,
Sari Sari Store was a Filipino restaurant located in Downtown LA's Grand Central Market. The concept was created by James Beard-nominated Chef Margarita Manzke and her husband Chef Walter Manzke. "Sari sari" translates to "whatever" in Filipino, which perfectly described the small stores that sold a variety of items from candy to skewers. The menu at Sari Sari Store featured savory rice bowls or "silog", inspired by Chef Margarita's Pinoy heritage, as well as sweet treats like halo halo and Buko Pie. Additionally, they offered Pulutan, a Filipino Happy Hour with San Miguel beer for $3 and specialty bar snacks. Sadly, Sari Sari Store has permanently closed.
