I do not know who the Facebook "henrystacos" (no spaces, no apostrophe) is, but I have managed this page since just before the relocation to the south side of Tujunga and Moorpark. Anyone can start a Henry's Tacos page, after all I did. I have no incentive other than the enjoyment of the food. I began going there in 1973 when I lived at Riverside Drive and Colfax and worked at the Alameda location of NBC. Yikes, I'm old. I spoke to Omar Vega, the operator since 1993. I can't explain any of the deliberate confusions over the name. The sign was going up today when I went by. Anyone who says otherwise has an ulterior motive that is not supportive of Omar Vega. If I see anyone there tomorrow and I don't speak it is because I have my face filled with food. I swear.

Don't forget tomorrow is the re-opening of Henry's Tacos and they have shirts (and maybe caps, too) for sale. Support Omar Vega by treating yourself to a famous (since 1961) Henry's taco, burrito, or chiliburger. Major Yummmmmmmm.

There appears to be some family strife over name ownership, leading to posting on another Henrys Tacos page denying the Saturday opening. I spoke directly to Oscar Vega and communicated with Janis Hood and went to the Tujunga Blvd. location to see for myself. Oscar and friends were cleaning and preparing for Saturday and we spoke. I have no financial interest in Henry's but my tummy has a vested interest in their wares.

In the interests of accuracy, I WENT to Henry's and found OWNER Omar Vega and others working to prepare for Saturday's opening - It's happening, Omar informed me they're gonna open Saturday!!!! I can't wait! Also, family members encouraged me to keep this page going, so I will! C.U. All Saturday!

Hi All, I started this page some years ago when the business was in trouble at the Northwest corner. The family who runs the business just started a new page called Henrys Tacos (no apostophe). I have contacted them and will retire this page if they wish. I have no interest in the business, I'm just a fan of the place since 1973. I will post the notice before closing the page and will give everyone time to switch over should that prove appropriate. Long live Henry's Tacos! BTW since I don't own the business, I can only pass on what information I believe to be credible. If it is not accurate I can only apologize for the confusion.

There is still no word on a new Henry's Tacos location. I have put out feelers to the current and past owners. Hopefully I will get an answer soon! I am Jonesing for a combo burrito!

If you are an Instagram user, you will know that the lease on the Tujunga Ave. Henry's Tacos was not renewed. No reason was given. At this time the owners are seeking another location. If they are successful I will post the new location. You would think that a venerable 60 year old business like Henry's would not have to go through this, but apparently not. I won't frequent the Taco place that took Henry's original spot after the embarrassing procedure that denied Henry's landmark status after the Cultural Affairs department granted it, and I will not be frequenting whatever business occupies this spot either.

To get to Tujunga Avenue in Los Angeles via public transport, take the Metro Red Line train to Universal City Station. From there, transfer to the Metro Local Bus 150 and get off at the Tujunga Ave. stop. The restaurant is a short walk from the bus stop.

If you're driving, take the Hollywood Freeway (101) and exit at Vineland Ave. Turn left onto Vineland Ave, continue straight onto Tujunga Ave and look for parking along the street near the restaurant.
