The Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, Inc. (BWL) is a local business that was established in 1975 by a group of African-American women judges and attorneys in Los Angeles who recognized the lack of an organization addressing the needs and concerns of African-American women in the legal profession. Throughout the years, BWL has expanded its reach through community projects and committee activities, including raising funds for law school scholarships for second and third year students. In collaboration with the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA), BWL co-founded the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, which has become a leading provider of pro bono family law services in Los Angeles County. Additionally, BWL is an active member of the Multicultural Bar Alliance, providing a crucial platform for diverse voices within the legal community.

The Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, Inc. (BWL) is a remarkable organization that has been making a positive impact since its founding in 1975.
