🤪 This week we played a little with “flavor separation”, so we basically made some custom dividers that go inside the carapina (the stainless steel tub) and help us maintaining the gelato in a certain position, just like it’s shown in the second picture.

🌰 The flavors we chose to combine are hazelnut and chocolate, this is basically a deconstructed take on this classic combination.

🧑🏻‍🍳 The separate alternating sections allow each flavor to express its own character and when scooped, they come together naturally, creating a unique balance of flavors and textures.

😋 But that’s not all: chocolate shavings enrich the hazelnut gelato, while roasted hazelnut pieces add crunch to the chocolate gelato, resulting in a delicious combination of creaminess, texture, and rich roasted notes.

🌱 This flavor is completely vegan and it’s made using Piedmont hazelnuts and French dark chocolate.

🍫 We chose to call it Nocciolato, it would translate as Choconut.

🎂 Few days ago we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary (😱) and we know that some of you have been waiting for this moment because it means the Italian Wedding Cake flavor is back!

🗓️ It’s one of the two flavors we only make once a year because it really means something to us.

🧑🏻‍🍳 For those who don’t know about this flavor, to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we created a flavor inspired by the traditional Torta degli Sposi (wedding cake) and the beloved Italian almond confetti, or Jordan almonds.

💕 Why almonds? In Italian weddings, the sweet sugar and the bitter almonds symbolize the sweetness of love and the bitterness of life. The confetti are usually given in groups of five, representing happiness, health, longevity, wealth, and fertility.

5️⃣ To honor this tradition, we used almonds in five different ways: natural almond extract in the base, almond flour cake soaked in almond syrup, marzipan pieces, and toasted almonds on top, all nestled in a creamy, delicate custard base.

📣 After yesterday’s behind the scenes video, it’s now time to officially announce our latest flavor: English Toffee.

🧈 A rich, buttery gelato inspired by classic English toffee confectionery.

🧑🏻‍🍳 Our base is made with a homemade toffee cooked slowly with butter and sugar until golden and aromatic, developing warm notes of caramelized sugar, buttercrunch, and toasted dairy.

🍫 To complete the flavor, we add shards of milk chocolate coated with roasted almonds, folded into the gelato for a delicate crunch in every bite.

👀 Curious fact: English toffee is a bit of a culinary misnomer. While the treat is rooted in British candy-making traditions, the specific, nutty, chocolate-coated version known as “English toffee” is actually an American twist on the original classic.

👌🏻 Final touches for one of our weekend’s specials: Amarena.

🍒 Amarena is a classic Italian-inspired flavor made with fiordilatte gelato and swirled with homemade dark Amarena cherry syrup.

🧑🏻‍🍳 The result is a creamy base balanced by the deep, slightly tart sweetness of Amarena cherries, creating a rich and fruity flavor with a naturally intense cherry aroma.

👶🏻 Serena is carefully evaluating this weekend’s sorbets.

Going clockwise from the top left:
🌺 Hibiscus
🍊 Orange
🍓 Strawberry
🍋 Lemon

🧑🏻‍🍳 The hibiscus is made by boiling real flower petals, and the fruity flavors are crafted using only fresh fruit.

🌱 They are all vegan and gluten-free.

🧪 As mentioned yesterday in our weekly newsletter, since Serena was born, we haven’t been able to experiment as much as we used to, but that doesn’t mean we stopped thinking about new flavors!

🐣 We’re excited to announce a brand-new gelato flavor inspired by Easter. Its name? Easter Egg. All the creativity went into the process, not the name.

🎁 This new flavor is our take on a chocolate Easter egg, complete with a fun surprise inside!

🧑🏻‍🍳 A French chocolate gelato base is wrapped around a molten chocolate ganache (this one took some serious thinking), layered with custom-sized homemade vegan white chocolate with a delicate hint of coconut, and finished with a red berry sauce to balance the richness with a touch of tartness. On top: edible flowers for an extra “Eastery” touch.

🌱 This flavor is 100% vegan and gluten-free.

🍊 This year we’ve been squeezing a lot of blood oranges, and it’s been by far our most loved flavor so far.

⏳ But all good things come to an end… this might be our last batch of the season (and of the year).

🏃‍♂️ We still have a good amount of this sorbet in store right now, but we’re not sure it’ll be around next weekend. So if you love it, don’t miss out!

👀 In the pictures, you can see a little behind the scenes of the process.

🌒 On Tuesday, the moon will turn blood red during a total lunar eclipse. While NASA studies the eclipse, we chose to churn it.

🩸 We can’t make a moony gelato (yet?), but we can definitely make a bloody one. And that means Blood Orange sorbetto is back.

🍊 Naturally crimson. Intensely citrusy. Here for a very short season.

💨 Just like the eclipse, it won’t last long.

🔭 No telescope required, just a waffle cone.

✨ First post of 2026! Sorry we haven’t been very active lately, we’ve been busy working on a very special “new flavor”.

🧑🏻‍🍳 After 9 months of churning, testing, and perfecting the recipe, we’re happy to say… we nailed it!

👶🏻 Meet our latest creation: Serena. We chose this name because we wanted something that would feel at home in Italian, Spanish, and English.

🍼 She has notes of:
• Extra sweetness
• Strong appetite
• Surprisingly good sleep
• Generous amount of hair

🦊 Chori & Mila are still reviewing this new addition to the family and seem slightly confused about the unexpected sound effects… There’s been a lot of sniffing going on.

🍦 And if you’re wondering, yes, she’ll be coming to the store quite often! Some of you have already met our little scoop.

🤍 A special thank you to Jay & Luis for the beautiful custom-made onesie featuring our logo, we absolutely love it!

🥵 And the last custom order of the year has been picked up!

🥰 We want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support this year. It hasn’t been the easiest, to be honest, for various reasons, but one thing that never changes is the love you show us every time!

🎉 Wishing you a Happy New Year!

🗓️ Tomorrow, January 1st, we’ll be open from 1 PM to 8 PM, so if you’d like to start the year with some gelato, you know where to get it!

🎉 Mini Panettone is back! For those of you who receive our weekly flavor newsletter and/or stopped by our store last week, you already know the exciting news, but in case you missed it, it’s Mini Panettone season!

🎄 If you’re not familiar, panettone is a traditional Italian sweet bread and fruitcake, originating from Milan. It’s a holiday classic, typically enjoyed at Christmas and New Year.

🧑🏻‍🍳 We’re baking these in-house, gluten-free, with a delicious mix of candied oranges, cranberries, and chocolate shavings.

🗓️ We’ll have a limited supply of mini panettones available in-store, but we’re mostly making them to order. Want one (or more)? Just let us know! Choose your desired pickup date, and we’ll have it fresh and ready for you!

🥚 We can also make it dairy-free (but not vegan, it would still have eggs).

🏷️ Price: $12.50 each, just like the past years.

‼️ Since we don’t use preservatives, we recommend enjoying your panettone within a couple of days for maximum freshness.

🥗 In Italy, we have an expression about local ingredients: “Cibo a km zero”, which translates to Zero Kilometer Food. In the US, it’s most commonly known as farm-to-table.

🍊 One of this weekend’s specials is Mandarin sorbetto, and the mandarins we used are literally zero km food because some lovely neighbors brought them to us, and they live just one block away from our store! So when we say this flavor is made using local fruit, we really mean it.

📷 Maybe this behind-the-scenes picture isn’t the most glamorous, but we felt the real story is about the mandarins, not the gelato.

🎂 Yesterday we wrapped up our last catering event of the year, an 8th birthday party, and we have to admit, it was such a fun one!

🏎️ There were so many activities and things to do, but the absolute highlight was definitely the mini Lamborghinis. They were just too adorable!

🧈 Introducing Truffle Butter, a name that sounds simple, but this flavor is anything but. We start by infusing French Échiré butter with Italian truffles, letting the two mingle for several days, before blending them into a velvety, super-creamy gelato base. To finish, a touch of Italian Parmigiano Reggiano adds a delicate, savory hint of salt that perfectly balances the richness.

🧑🏻‍🍳 The result? A decadent, buttery gelato with luxurious truffle notes that will elevate your holiday dessert game.

⚾️ Since moving to LA, we quickly realized how deeply the city is connected to the Dodgers, and we always wanted to dedicate them a gelato flavor. Now that the Dodgers just won (again!) the World Series, it felt like the perfect moment.

🎉 But a team is nothing without its fans, and we wanted to include them too. We immediately thought of East LA, one of the most passionate communities when it comes to Dodgers pride. The bond between the Latino community and the team goes back decades, and it’s a huge part of what makes LA so special.

💙 So we created Churros in Blue, named as a fun twist on the Dodgers’ nickname “The Boys in Blue.” A creamy homemade horchata gelato (rice milk, cinnamon, and vanilla) with blue churros, the same color as the Dodgers’ iconic jersey. A celebration of flavor, culture, and team spirit.

🌱 Completely gluten-free and vegan.

🌇 We’ve been to East LA and the surrounding areas many times on our days off because there are so many great spots to take pictures and watch the sunset, and we’re proud to finally dedicate a flavor to this city and its community.

🤗 Last week we introduced two new flavors, but we put the spotlight on Waffle Cone because we were so happy with how it turned out, and your amazing feedback confirmed it!

📣 Now it’s time to give some love to the other new flavor… because it’s back again this week!

🤎 Introducing: Nutella Brownie, a rich and indulgent combination of flavors and textures.

🧑🏻‍🍳 Our smooth fiordilatte gelato, made with fresh milk and cream, serves as the perfect base for generous swirls of velvety Nutella and chunks of our homemade gluten-free brownies: soft inside and slightly chewy outside. The result is a luxurious mix of creamy, chocolatey, and nutty notes that melt together in every bite.

🪄 You see one waffle cone, but in reality, there are two! No, we’re not crazy (yet), that’s just our newest gelato flavor: Waffle Cone!

🤔 So many customers love our homemade waffle cones that some even joked we should make a gelato flavor out of them. Well, we took the idea seriously!

🧑🏻‍🍳 Our fiordilatte base is infused overnight with freshly toasted waffle cones, letting their buttery sweetness and warm vanilla aroma slowly blend into the milk.

💫 Once the gelato is ready, we finish it with a sprinkle of golden waffle cone dust. It’s the essence of a gelato cone, reimagined as gelato itself.

😅 New flavor! Well… almost new. We made it last week, but it sold out so fast we never even had the chance to post it here.

🍰 Introducing our Basque Cheesecake gelato (euskal gazta-tarta). For those unfamiliar, this dessert is crustless, with a caramelized, almost-burnt top and a creamy, custard-like center.

🇪🇸 It was created in the late 1980s at the legendary La Viña restaurant in San Sebastián, Spain.

👩🏻‍🍳 This gelato is as indulgent as the original cake. We craft the base with cream cheese, fresh eggs, and cream, then blend in slices of our homemade Basque cheesecake to capture its rich, caramelized flavor. As it comes out of the machine, we fold in shards of the cheesecake’s iconic burnt top, adding a smoky sweetness and the perfect contrast to its velvety creaminess.
