Hawkins Burgers has been proudly serving the Watts/Willowbrook Community for over 80 years . After 80+years of serving this community in the SAME building, CalTrans has made a claim that part of Hawkins is encroaching on state land. CalTrans is forcing Hawkins to tear down part of their building that they claim is encroaching on state land! We have just came out of the biggest pandemic that this generation has ever seen and restaurants have been hurt more than any other business.
We at Hawkins House of Burgers need the support of the community to save our legacy! We hope Cal Trans will not make us remove part of our building but instead give us the the option of purchasing it.
Please help us get the word out. We need CalTrans District 7 to support this minority owned restaurant instead of tearing us down.

3 the hard way...
Can't end Black history month or start Women's History Month without highlighting Cynthia Hawkins with her 2 daughters. Cynthia was taught the importance of hardwork and providing for the community by her father and she continues to preach that to her daughters and grandchildren.
The backbone of Hawkins Burgers.
History in the making.

On this day, many many years ago our founder James H. Hawkins Sr. (Father to Cynthia Hawkins) was born. He was a business man, philanthropist, but most importantly a great father and grandfather. Coming straight from a rural, impoverished town in Arkansas he headed west to Los Angeles with only a hope and a dream for a better life for his family. Without this man's hardwork, kindness, passion, dedication, and resilience there would be no Hawkins House of Burgers. We are so greatful and we will make sure his legacy lives on.
Happy Birthday to the Legendary James H. Hawkins Sr
