Started as a father-daughter project, they micro roasted their beans to preserve flavor and quality. They fulfilled dad's dream of owning a small business and satisfied their community's desire for rich, vibrant coffee. Sadly, this restaurant has been permanently closed.

Our homemade Serrano Chili Salsa is ready to be paired with our empanadas. This mouthwatering salsa recipe was given to Cafecito Pura Vida by my Uncle Louie and Aunt Christine.

When we first opened, I realized our empanadas needed one of my aunt's salsas to accompany them. Aunt Christine gave us the recipe and Uncle Louie taught us how to make it. In true Los Angeles fashion, we fused our grandma's Costa Rican empanadas with our aunt's Mexican Serrano Chili salsa. It's a perfect empanada-salsa marriage!

To get to W. 2nd Street in Los Angeles via public transport, take the metro to Pershing Square station and exit towards Hill Street. From there, walk west on W. 2nd Street for about two blocks until you reach your destination.

If driving, take the 110 freeway and exit at 4th St/3rd St. Head west on 4th St or 3rd St until you reach Hill Street and turn left. From there, turn right onto W. 2nd Street and look for parking options in the area.
