That’s how Iran serves up Karma to US, when we act recklessly, as when we bomb Iran while we’re supposedly in the middle of Diplomatic discussions to avoid war. Or, in the case of President Carter, when he didn’t bother to include the Iranian Government in on his stealth plan to send armed military helicopters to “set American Embassy workers free” from being “held captive” in the American Embassy by… Iranian Students who were basically copying what they observed during “Sit-ins” at American Colleges when students were protesting the Vietnam War!!
What did Iran do?
Literally minutes after Carter stepped down from the Presidency, Iran de-escalated matters and re-opened the Strait of Hormuz!

According to a new blockbuster report in The Atlantic, President Trump “really, really wants the war with Iran to end.”
Of course, he’s declared victory multiple times, repeatedly extended cease-fire deadlines instead of following through on his apocalyptic threats, and even abandoned an effort to es**rt ships through the Strait of Hormuz out of fear of escalation.
Ace reporter Jon Lemire writes that Trump is tired of the conflict, which has lasted far longer and proven far more difficult than he expected.
His congressional minions are panicking about rising gas prices and cratering poll numbers ahead of the midterms. He doesn’t want to be stuck in another endless Middle East war, but that’s where he finds himself.
Problem is, it’s not over just because Trump announces it. Iran just isn’t playing along. Tehran has rejected proposals, called Trump’s bluff repeatedly, and is using the stalemate to tighten its grip on power.
With echoes of Jimmy Carter in 1980, the Iranian hard-liners are beginning to humiliate an American president once again.
The self-proclaimed dealmaker extraordinaire can’t even get Iran to the negotiating table. His own negotiators are making offers he later says he would never approve. A real strategy for success!
And despite his denials, the war has depleted the U.S. stock of high tech munitions that sure would come in handy if the military was called on to, say, defend Taiwan from a Chinese attack.
The chickens are coming home to roost. Trump talked tough, foolishly started a war, and now he’s stuck. With his famously short attention span, he’s bored and frustrated with the whole thing and wants to move on to fun stuff like his ballroom, arch, and late night sh*tposting of AI memes.
Problem is, he’s left his party politically vulnerable, and if they fail to move the goalpost in the midterms with their urgent attempts at gerrymandering away all of the county’s minority districts, the Republicans are looking at a real wipeout in the midterms.
The “stable genius” is at it again, but the stakes are higher – and this one he can’t escape so easily after he let the genie out of the bottle.
