BIG CONGRATS to our very own cook, Rigoberto Ruiz who won the Great American Taco Challenge yesterday in Long Beach!

His Jicama Shrimp Taco took the cake and will be featured at Alegria restaurant on Cinco de Mayo with all proceeds benefiting a non profit organization of his choice. We hope to have these delicious tacos available on our menu at 90 Pacifica soon. We will keep everyone posted!

The winner of Alegria's first Great American Taco Challenge is Rigoberto Ruiz by way of West Covina, whose Jicama Shrimp Taco, piled with perfectly cooked cold shrimp, avocado, mango, onion, a drizzle of a chile aioli and a liberal dash of chile powder wooed the judges (including this writer).

To get to Pacifica in Irvine, you can take public transportation or drive and park. If you're taking public transportation, you can take the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) bus to the Irvine Station. From there, transfer to the OCTA Route 86 bus towards Aliso Viejo and get off at the Pacifica stop. If you're driving, take the I-405 South and exit at Jamboree Road. Turn left onto Jamboree Road and then turn right onto Michelson Drive. Turn left onto Carlson Avenue and then turn right onto Pacifica. There is parking available on site.
