8 years ago. we thought we were building a boutique and café. We ended up building a community. 💜
We started with a vision to create more than just a place to shop and grab coffee. We wanted to create a space where people could gather, connect, and celebrate.
Watching Morning Lavender transform into a community over the years has been one of the most meaningful parts of this journey. From strangers becoming friends to families making memories here, this is everything we hoped to build.

Our midweek matcha and mahjong open play times are changing for the fall and winter months!
Join us for a friendly evening of community, drinks, and mahjong! Primarily Hong Kong style, but other styles are welcome!
Free* lessons at 3pm for first timers or if you just need a refresher! Lessons are around 30 minutes followed but guided play. Ask for Jason when you arrive and we’ll get you learning and playing in no time! *just buy a drink!
Open play starts at 4, but sometimes earlier depending on how many show up. Walk up to a table needing a 3rd or 4th, or call next at a full table. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and inviting. Serious and non serious players alike!

We’re so grateful to have partnered with fellow Asian-owned businesses Asian Baby Clothing LLC, Bo & Mei | Where Play Meets Culture and Jilly Bing | Asian American Dolls & Toys to bring together an afternoon celebrating culture, tradition and family.
As the daughter of refugees, having the opportunity to share my culture and create a space where our community can come together means so much to me. I’ve always envisioned Morning Lavender as more than a boutique and café. I wanted it to be a place where people could gather, connect and celebrate the things that bring us together.
Having my boys there to experience and participate in it made the day even more meaningful. Being able to pass these traditions on to the next generation, while sharing them with our community, is something I’m incredibly grateful for.
Supporting other small businesses has also always been important to us, especially businesses that share our commitment to culture, family and community.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, brought your families and spent the afternoon with us. This is exactly the kind of community I hoped Morning Lavender could help create. 🤍
