Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support. This is Chiho, Chef JR's wife and I'd like to like to share some updates with you.

Chef JR was discharged from the hospital on 28th of December, 2022 and has been resting at home. For those who are asking about updates, my apologies for not being able to respond in a timely manner.

Despite JR's limited mobility, his recovery has been good so far. According to his doctor, the recovery will take up to 1-2 months. Now he is fighting with pain caused by surgery. He can walk by himself and will be starting physical therapy soon.

Regarding our future plans for Tatang, we haven't made any decisions and details at this moment. We are focusing on his recovery and precious family time. Thank you so much for understanding.

Honestly, there are ups and downs everyday. We are taking one day at time. I know we can overcome this like we overcame the pandemic in 2020-2021 with your support.

We are so fortunate to have friends and family's support and Gofundme funds this time. Thank you so much for being around us and supporting us. We appreciate all the kinds of support you have given us.

Happy New Year!! To all our friends and family and supporters new and old, we wanted to give you an update of what has been going on behind the scenes of Tatang.
On December 23rd, Chef JR had an emergency triple bypass surgery. All was successful, but it was a major procedure, and he is now home recovering with family. So, if we have been slow to respond to your requests on here and elsewhere online, please forgive us as we need this time to reprioritize our lives and business.

As you know, Tatang has always been and always will be a family-owned business, so Chef's JR's health problems have affected all of us on a personal and business level. We will not be taking any catering orders for the foreseeable future during the healing process. We hope you can understand.
We may reopen in a different or limited capacity with Chef JR taking on less of a hands-on role. The truth is that times are uncertain, and we are still in recovery mode.
With that said, Chef JR's and Tatang's mission has, from the beginning, been to share Filipino flavors and traditions to the world and we take pride in being part of the growing Filipino Food Movement right here in Los Angeles. We want to see our food and culture thrive. And we promise you, we are not going anywhere.

Being in the restaurant and hospitality industry has been tough for us and for everyone these last few years. Thank you for treading the waters with us.
