To the greatest Marine I ever knew. Captain Jack Stites, Frozen Chosin “Gunny” under Col. W.E Barber. Fought along side Chesty Puller. The Tun Tavern sign is a complete replica of the original sign that hung from the Tun Tavern where the Marine Corp. was started. The framed poster is a sephia copy, printed when the Marines first moved to 29 Palms Marine base, of and ‘original’ recruitment poster that was printed in 1775. The charcoal sketch is a signed representation, from Jack himself as is the poster, of when the Marines triumphantly walked out of the Chosin Resevoir. Each has a story to tell and all reside comfortably here at Dohenys Tavern & Grill. Where stories are shared and thanks and praise are given with every drink we hoist up. Hoorahhh!!

Sad day in Lakerland. Kobe Bryant's death has been confirmed. Watched his first game and first shot. An airball from the 3 point line. Chick Hearn said " watch this kid,he won't miss many like that". And he didn't. Thanks for the memories and the championships. Here's to ya'! RIP Kobe.
