Java Man Coffee House, located on Pier Avenue in Hermosa, is the oldest coffee house in town and offers a comfortable and unique 1920's bungalow setting with outdoor seating available. Everything is homemade by a friendly staff, including fresh baked goods, soups, sandwiches, and desserts. They were recently named the top Independent Coffee House in the Easy Reader's 'Best of the Beach.' Their signature quote is "Our coffee’s so good we drink it ourselves."

Thank you also to my hard working employees, for without them, there would be no Java Man. I am sooooo lucky to have Daniel, Nicky, Chewie, Manuel and Mauricio there every day .

Alot has changed in downtown Hermosa over the last 30 years. What hasn’t changed is the sense of community you feel when you walk in and see your neighbors gathering for coffee and conversation.

This is what an “old school” donut looks like. Made every Saturday in limited quantities. Available at Ocean Diner as well.
My mom would make these for us on Saturdays if we had behaved all week- meaning she didn’t make them very often!

If you're taking public transport, you can take the metro train or bus and get off at the Hermosa Beach station. From there, walk east on Pier Avenue until you reach the coffee shop and breakfast & brunch restaurant.

If you're driving, from Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), turn onto Pier Avenue and head west until you reach the coffee shop and breakfast & brunch restaurant. Street parking is available along Pier Avenue or in nearby lots.
