IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

To our dear family and friends,

We opened our doors on December 13, 2010, and the rest is history. For over 15 years, Mazara Trattoria has been known as the local community’s go-to spot for authentic Italian food, where you enter as a friend and leave as family!

We are tremendously privileged to have served not only the community of Huntington Beach, but also many other surrounding communities both near and far. For those of you from Chicago, to Hawaii, to Europe, and beyond—we thank you for making it a point to always visit!

We write to inform you that as of July 1, 2026, Mazara Trattoria will be retiring from this location. As you can imagine, this is truly bittersweet and we have deeply contemplated this decision as we look forward to life’s next chapter.

It is with mixed emotions that we make this announcement. To say it has been an honor to be a part of your lives is an understatement. You have allowed us to be ever present, whether it be in your own dining rooms, at private dinners, or at life changing events. As you know, our dining room at Mazara Trattoria has always been an extension of our home. Having shared so many special moments with you has brought us an overwhelming amount of joy and appreciation!

For now, we leave you all with our heartfelt gratitude and thanks for your trust, loyalty, and support. Your friendship has been the key to Mazara Trattoria’s great success!

Buona sera and welcome to Mazara Trattoria!

For quite some time now, we have been seeing so many new wonderful faces that have discovered us for the first time. We think this warrants a recap as many of you are not aware of our fine, little trattoria.

Mazara Trattoria has been a staple of the Huntington Beach community since 2010 and is owned and operated by an Italian family, specifically from the region of Puglia.

Our menu consists of regional cooking with dishes prepared by well-respected Chef Gino Buonanoce.
Our dishes are prepared with the highest quality ingredients to enhance flavors that are reminiscent of dishes you will find in Italy.

Although we are a quaint trattoria, we are a full-service restaurant offering dinner service, as well as on-and off-site catering for private events.

Our success is based on word of mouth as we know this is the most powerful way to grow. If you have not dined with us, come and visit soon. We are located at Beach and Talbert, serving dinner Tuesday - Saturday from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m. Reservations are highly encouraged.

As a reminder, Mazara Trattoria will be on vacation, beginning September 1st, and will re-open Tuesday, September 17th.

EXCITING NEWS FROM MAZARA TRATTORIA!

The Mazara Trattoria family is growing and we are honored to introduce highly esteemed Chef, Luigi “Gino” Buonanoce.

Gino was born and raised in Mola di Bari, Italy, a quaint fishing town on the Adriatic Sea in Southeast Italy known for its seafood, focaccia, orecchiette, brasciole, and many other regional delights. Gino’s interest in cooking began at an early age. His mother very often held him over the stovetop as he insisted on adding various ingredients and stirring the pot--no pun intended! Throughout his career, Gino has taken many of these hometown recipes with him, including an incredible Pugliese-style focaccia bread that reminds him of the Old Country.

Gino attended culinary school in Bari, Italy, where he obtained his professional degree. As his passion continued, he became a Sous Chef aboard a Mediterranean cruise line and later Chef aboard other cruise ships. His first stop in the U.S. took him to Parma Ristorante in New York City at the age of 22. Shortly thereafter, Gino arrived in California, where he became acquainted with Antonio Cagnolo of Antonello Ristorante. Gino joined the Antonello team, spending a cumulative tenure of 23 years with the restaurant. More recently, for the last 12 years Gino was the Executive Chef at Antonello Ristorante, where he was able to incorporate many of his culinary talents and ideas. Gino has also owned several Italian restaurants in Orange County.

We are excited to welcome Gino to the existing talent at Mazara Trattoria as a partner/Chef. Please feel free to come by and welcome him on this exciting new adventure.

To get to the Italian restaurant on Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach, you can take several public transportation options. By bus, take line 29 and get off at the nearest stop at Beach Boulevard. By train, take the Orange County Line or Pacific Surfliner to the Santa Ana station and transfer to line 64.

If you prefer to drive, from Interstate 405, take exit 14A and head south on Beach Boulevard. The restaurant is located on the east side of the street between Hamilton Avenue and Indianapolis Avenue. Parking is available in a lot adjacent to the restaurant or along Beach Boulevard.
