Hello everyone,

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we share the passing of our longtime cook and dearly loved member of the Pancho’s family, Angel “Compa Seis” Hernandez. Angel was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and, heartbreakingly, passed early Christmas morning, just two weeks after his diagnosis.

Angel began working alongside Pancho in 1980, dedicating 45 years of his life to Pancho’s and to the many families who have shared meals with us throughout the decades. From preparing and chopping vegetables, creating our signature sauces, and making fresh guacamole each day, to working the line frying chips and serving countless combination plates, Angel’s care, pride, and dedication were present in everything he did.

Many of you may remember Angel by his iconic LA Dodgers blue hat and the Dodgers T-shirts he loved to wear, or by the music that often filled the kitchen as he worked. These small, familiar moments became part of the heart and rhythm of Pancho’s.

Working alongside Angel for so many years was truly an honor, and we are incredibly grateful to have had him as part of our family. As we continue forward, we take comfort in knowing that Angel and Pancho are watching over us, guiding us as we do our best to carry on the work they cared for so deeply.

In the wake of this loss, we would also like to share that a GoFundMe has been created to support Angel’s family during this unimaginably difficult time. Before his passing, Angel shared his wish to return to Mexico — the place where he grew up, where his family is from, and where his parents still reside. It was a place close to his heart and one he was able to visit a few times during his adulthood.

Angel was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. His family is deeply heartbroken by his passing. Through this fundraiser, we hope to help his wife honor his final wish to return to Mexico and to ease any financial burdens that may arise during this time.

For those who feel moved to do so, we gently invite you to support Angel’s family by contributing to the GoFundMe linked below. Any amount, or simply sharing the fundraiser, is deeply appreciated and means more than words can express.

Thank you for the kindness, love, and support you have always shown the Pancho’s family. Angel will forever be part of our story and will be deeply missed by all of us.
