El Carmen Restaurant is a Mexican restaurant located on West 3rd Street in LA. This classic tequila bar and taqueria was founded by Encarnacion Elias Gomez in 1929 and is known for its impressive collection of Tequilas and Mezcals, featuring over 300 labels from over 175 producers. In 1997, the family turned the reins over to Sean MacPherson of Committed, Inc., who renovated the interior with his exceptional eye for detail and design celebrating the colorful history of the Lucha Libre wrestlers. El Carmen attracts a diverse crowd of locals, first dates, and celebrations of old friends and new who come to indulge in delicious food and drink while basking in the spirit of Mexico.
