I suspect it will not surprise anyone that with the heat this week we will be shutting it down at 1 P.M. everyday this week through Friday. Back to the normal 7-3 Everyday thingy starting on Saturday. We can keep it sane for a little while everyday, but I love my staff and I don't want any of them cooking their brains. Well, I mean.... Okay, I'll leave that one alone. Just be aware that you need to walk in the door before 1P.M. for the next few days. Thanks for your understanding.

It really is the little things that just make life better. Running around this morning doing all the things that need done. Mentally dealing with a couple of this weeks fires as I was walking out of Sam's to the car. As I was getting ready to load up the trunk a car slows as it passes by, A guy rolls down the window: "You guys have really great food, I love your place, Thanks!" Yeah, better day all around after that. And thank you passing car for the kind words.

Just a heads up to those who haven't noticed, it's a tad bit warm out these days. And that humidity thing on top of it, yeah it's ugly.

Back when Jim built the place he had this great idea to have an open kitchen so you all can watch the cooks doing their thing. I think it's a wonderful thing. I always loved it when I was just a customer. How ever, having that great big slab of metal sitting there at 375 degrees does create some issues with climate control. A few years back we replaced the ducting and gave the A/C more power. It's better, but still more of a challenge than it can keep up with. So that is why you are getting this breaking news alert, well the one right after this paragraph actually...

BREAKING NEWS ALERT!!!!

Due to conditions of heat and humidity we will be closing early today, Friday, July 24th. Looking like 1 P.M. for final seating. It's not bad to sit in, but the staff that is actually working and moving, not so much. So for health and safety (and a chance for the system to catch up so we can start the day cooler tomorrow and not have to do this again) of the crew we will be calling it a day early.

Inquiring minds want to know!!

Did you know that tomorrow, June 28th (Is that 10/28 Violet??) our miss Candace who many of you know left us a few months back, will be making a cameo appearance here at Cowboy. Apparently Carole thinks her kids wedding is more important than all of you and Ava thinks hanging out with her family at the river is more fun. Anyway, a chance for you all to visit with Candace if you miss her.

Did you also know that just because of Carole and Ava wanting the same time off Leilani is playing server tomorrow, June 28th (June is the 6th month Violet.... ) on her LAST DAY AT COWBOY?!? So there is a second reason to call ahead for priority seating, to See Candace one more time and see Leilani for the last time!

Yeah, yeah, I know they will both miss us and beg to come back and cameo now and then, but it could be the last time you see them together unless you come to our Christmas party, which is private, so you can't even if you wanted to.

Also a good chance to introduce yourself to Violet who is so awesome she is replacing both of them! I mean she thinks June is the tenth month, but other than that, AWESOME!

Tis the season....

Did you know that this coming Sunday is a big day? An important day? A life changing kind of day? Well okay, a season changing kind of day when the days start getting shorter again and the outdoor thermostat gets turned up!

Oh, and I guess it's also Father's day. That's sort of a big deal too. It's the day you have to actually laugh at the puns and stuff like that.

It's also one of those days where we will be baking up some of the Aunt Becky's egg bake. There will be some available (until it runs out) for dine in that will be served with the all the usual breakfast sides that come with the "Usual" (Well actually it's big brother the Maverick, but that's sort of splitting hairs) SO you get the egg bake, some breakfast meat of choice, a side and toast. You can even go wild and make it a biskit (yes I know that's not how YOU spell biscuit, but it's how we do, deal with it) and gravy for a bit extra. Anyway,that's happening, but it's not why many of you are reading this post. You want to know about the meal deal version of it don't ya? Wondering when I will get bored with the typing and mindless circles? I can do this all day, I'm a father of three! But I also need to get home and feed Kathy breakfast before work, so I guess I should get to it...

So here we go, Egg bake (enough to feed a family of four), a side of potatoes (your call on hashbrowns or papas potatoes), an assortment of sweet treats of some sort (I'll see what Sam's has this week), and 8 strips of bacon. This will set you back $40 after the tax part (no idea what that is). There will be 4 available each hour, on the half starting at 7:30. Read that again please. 4 each hour, ON THE HALF HOUR. We will have this as an option at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30. Claim your time in the comments!

Oh yeah, and also the usual drill will apply here for a day like this. That is to say, if you are dining in with us please, please, PLEASE call ahead to let us know when you are coming and how many you will be so we can let you know how close to that time we can get you in. That would be our great advice for you.

I think that covers it all well enough for me to hit the "post" button and get to feeding the wife!

Hey there peoples!

So here it is June, yep, JUNE! Well that's about it, just wanted to let you know that just in case you missed it. 172 shopping days until Christmas. Seems like a lot and not so many al at once doesn't it?

Anyway, just thought I'd check in with ya'll, let you know we're still here doing our thing. And remind you that our thing will be including that Father's day egg bake thing here a couple weeks from today.

So I guess that was what I was really here to remind you, the egg bake thing, not the Christmas thing. To be honest I'm still typing because somewhere in my tiny brain there is a hint of a thought that I was going to make a post that actually had something to say. Alas there is nothing here in the front of my brain that controls my typing. I mean the Motor cortex controls most of that, the Basal ganglia which is not in the front also helps regulate the voluntary motor skills. That gets me thinking, those people who drive THAT way, perhaps their Basal Ganglia isn't communicating correctly, because let's face it, some people's motor skills could use some refinement. What? Ohhhhhh, not those kind of motor skills.... got ya. My first thought was like a mechanic but..... oopsie, I'm doing that thing again, sorry.

OH! One thing, through no fault of her own, and pretty much against her wishes, Kathy will be hanging out in the restaurant all day day today (Sunday June 7th), so if you've been missing seeing her today is the day to fix that.

Okay, now maybe I'm done.
