To our Toast Downey guests,
This Saturday , we fell short and we owe you a sincere apology.
A breakdown early in the day created a cascade of issues in our kitchen and service that we were unable to recover from until late afternoon. With the popularity of our R&B Brunch and tables holding longer than expected, the delays compounded, and by mid-day the experience many of you received was not what we promise or expect of ourselves.
Some guests experienced slow service, poor service, or no service at all. We know that ruined plans, celebrations, and expectations, and we are truly sorry.
Our team showed up and worked through an incredibly difficult day under immense pressure. What may have come across as indifference was not a lack of care, but exhaustion in the face of circumstances that became overwhelming. That said, the responsibility ultimately falls on us.
We are taking a hard look at what failed, adjusting systems, and putting safeguards in place so this does not happen again especially on high-volume days.
We had a bad day. You deserved better. Thank you to those who showed patience, and thank you to our team who stayed and pushed through to the end.
We appreciate you, and we will do better.
