Here are some of my favorite cakes I made in 2023!
I've worked hard to improve and challenge myself through my work and I'm very proud to see the fruits of my labor.
🦁 I made this Lion King cake for my nephew's first birthday. I'm already planning his second birthday! Besides the sentimental value this cake hold for me, it was also technically difficult. Hand cutting the silhouettes was a challenge in it of itself.
🎓 My brother's graduation cake was extremely fulfilling to create as well. Honoring his achievement and years of dedication was a truly special moment this year.
🍜 My gravity-defying ramen cake pushed me to a new level I wasn't sure I would ever be capable of achieving. To this day I insist the pictures didn't do it justice!
🤠👨🚀 Since I started making cakes, I've always wanted to make a Toy Story cake. This was definitely a dream come true. I can't wait to make more!
🦋🌸This pink quinceañera cake was so beautiful and elegant I just had to include it! At first glance it might look simple but it embodied what a quinceañera is all about.
🖤🩷 I felt so artistic creating this Wednesday cake! I've never considered myself an artsy person but as the years go on, I've discovered a new part of myself I didn't know I had. I never thought I could paint a simple landscape, much less an edible 2D hand!
🚪8️⃣ This Chavo del Ocho cake was such a joy to make. I literally couldn't stop smiling throughout the whole process! El Chavo del Ocho was a childhood staple of mine and I never expected to have a cake theme that is so near and dear to my heart.
🔪🩸 As a cake decorator, and perfectionist, I always strive to make my work as clean and professional as I can. However, it was such a great change of pace to make a cake "messy" with blood splatter as the final step. It really completed the look of the cake and it was a lot of fun too!
🦔🌀This Sonic the Hedgehog cake was such a cute and fun design to make. I made some cookies to go with the cake that came out fantastic too!
⚾This baseball cake came out so good I still kick myself for not getting a better picture of it! Decorating the cake drum to look like a home plate was a really fun first.
