Four years in, he’s become one of the steady hands behind the coffees you love, roasting most of the espresso and French roast with dialed‑in consistency.
Outside the roastery, he’s a lifelong Culver City/Mar Vista local — forty‑one years rooted in the neighborhood — and a devoted everyday cook who pours just as much attention into the kitchen as he does into every batch.

Meet Ayarza, our newest Guatemalan coffee crafted by Cooperativa El Porvenir — a small group of nine families dedicated to fruit‑forward, wine‑inspired fermentation. Slow‑dried cherries, careful timing, and a guardiola drum bring out decadent layers of dark chocolate, pecan, and ripe cherry.
A beautiful reminder of what intentional farming can taste like.

Alana's Coffee on Venice Boulevard in Los Angeles is a coffee shop that has grown into a thriving local business with humble origins. The shop is community-focused and celebrates the endurance and strength of the intersectional LGBTQ+ community. Alana's Coffee recently launched a special roast, and profits made from this roast will be donated to Cuties Los Angeles, a Black-owned and operated community space providing resources and events to the LGBTQIA+ community. The goal of Cuties is to bring joy, play, and healing to queer, trans, and gender non-conforming folks, with special focus and offerings exclusively for QTBIPOC family. Alana's Coffee also sources its coffee beans from Colombia through ethical means. Eric and Ezekiel visited Colombia on a coffee sourcing trip with their friends and were blown away by the coffee producers they met. The team shared their most memorable moments and imagery in a post on social media. Alana's Coffee is not just about serving great coffee but also about building a strong community that supports diversity, inclusivity, and social justice.
