Hey World - this whole thing started from an admittedly foolish idea - making something beautiful out of the shattered cups, plates and other cafe wares and gear we've broken over the years. Anyone who knows me knows that pulling this off has been a goal of mine for YEARS. I've been talking about it to everyone and anyone for ever. Every time we broke something, I would tell the staff to keep it. We had heaps of it. And so to say that this is the culmination of a dream is an understatement. I was never super sure what the final thing would look like. It's not perfect. But it is ours and it is meaningful. And this turned into such a team effort. Thanks to Lisa for coming up with the design. Thanks to Ilya for putting in long hours gluing glass to a board with me. Thanks to Montse for so much but especially the textured white paint that really brought it all together. Thanks to one of our favorite regulars, Meghan, who got on the floor with us to put the finishing touches on this thing. Thanks to the random customer who watched us doing this and felt inspired to help and got on the floor with us to glue glass and ceramic to the boards! This was my vision but it turned into an amazing community project. Nothing could be more Demitasse.

To get to the location on S. San Pedro Street in Los Angeles, you can take the Metro Rail Blue Line and get off at the Grand/LATTC Station. From there, walk south on S. Figueroa Street for about 10 minutes until you reach S. San Pedro Street.
If you prefer to drive, take the 110 Freeway and exit on Adams Boulevard. Turn left onto S. Figueroa Street and continue for about half a mile until you reach S. San Pedro Street.
There are several parking options nearby, including street parking and paid parking lots/garages. Be sure to check posted signs for any restrictions or time limits on street parking.
