Memory Lane, part II... one of the hairiest restaurant openings that any of us have ever lived through even 24 years later. Everything seemed to go wrong. POS systems went haywire, and thousands of guests ran us over for three weeks straight. But we all pulled together and figured it out, and the rest is iconic history.

Apologies for not updating everybody lately...Lots of legal maneuvering going on that I cannot share details on but trust me it is significant. There are plenty of rumors swirling around about the future of this location and do yourself a favor and don’t believe any of it.
We would like to thank all of you for your support and kind words. The friends we have made along this 24-year journey are being heard and it makes a huge difference.
Stick with us.
Stay calm.
Hold the line.

Executive Chef Nelson Barillas 21 years at TAPS BREA on the left and Jose"Chuy" Luna 24 years on the right...if you ordered cioppino, pasta, or anything else that came off the sauté station there’s about a 10,000% chance that this guy cooked it for you.

Going to keep posting some archived pics.
Who remembers how many hand-laid bricks made up the building?

Being in the restaurant business for 24 years, I am often asked "what's your favorite restaurant"?
I received a very nice and supportive phone call today from the owner of one of my all-time favorites in life, our next-door neighbor in Brea, the Olive Pit. Hands down excellent Mediterranean cuisine and most bomb tzatziki sauce in America.
Thanks for the call today, George Makridis 👊🙏💪

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
The TAPS FISH HOUSE brands in Brea and Corona have nothing to do with the Taps Brewery + Kitchen in Yorba Linda. This was part of a partnership that has fractured and no management or oversight from my company has been involved since September 2022. My suggestion to all of you if and when this disaster of a business reopens in YL in the future is to stay very far away from it.
The stories from employees coming out of the kitchen there would curl your hair. They do not pay most vendors, they have not paid Southern California Edison one day since opening in 2020, have been cut off by vendors, owe over $100,000 in back sales taxes, and are blaming their inability to operate on the landlord and broken pipes.
Head down to Reunion Kitchen if you want something to eat in the area or wait for our group of investors to re-open the Knollwoods location. 💪
Most of you on this platform are adults and can handle blunt, honest communication that is factually-based. I have a 24 year reputation of dealing it out in large doses. If you want the truth, continue to follow the page and I will give it to you straight as long as you can all handle it.

What people say
TAPS Fish House & Brewery on Lakeshore Drive is a must-visit for anyone who loves fresh seafood and perfectly cooked steaks. The restaurant offers a wide range of options, from classic oysters on the half shell to baked Rockefeller-style oysters that are simply divine. Their cioppino is a nod to Italian immigrants who fished off Meiggs Wharf in San Francisco, making it not only delicious but also historically significant. And if you're looking for something truly special, try their marinated and grilled dish that has been on the menu for 23 years - there's definitely something magical happening there! The Chilean Seabass is another standout dish that has earned legendary status among regulars. With such an impressive menu, it's no wonder TAPS Fish House & Brewery has become a go-to spot for lunch or dinner.
