Wow... While we LOVE our coffee at Good Cuppa Coffee, we probably won't be offering any "owl coffee" roasts any time soon. ☕

☕🦝El kopi luwak, o café de civeta, es conocido por su origen inusual y su alto valor en el mercado. Este preciado café proviene de granos que han pasado por el sistema digestivo de una civeta, un mamífero del sudeste asiático. Las civetas consumen los frutos maduros del café, digiriendo la pulpa y excretando los granos intactos. Estos granos se recolectan manualmente de las heces, se limpian cuidadosamente y se tuestan.

El kopi luwak puede costar cientos de euros por kilo, siendo especialmente apreciado en países como Japón y Estados Unidos. Su sabor único se debe al proceso de fermentación que ocurre en el tracto digestivo de la civeta, donde los ácidos y enzimas modifican las propiedades de los granos. Además, las civetas seleccionan los frutos más rojos y maduros, asegurando que solo se utilicen los granos de mayor calidad.
