A Message from our CEO:
Shaquille and I have been following what restaurants in California have been doing in response to AB1228 going into effect, known more commonly as the FAST Act. My management team had weekly (and often daily) communications with our franchise in California over the last few months to try to determine what makes the most sense for their business, their staff, and the consumers who have grown to love Big Chicken. At this time, the franchise in Valencia has decided that it will hold price for a minimum of 3 months, which we all hope will attract both new and returning consumers to our restaurants. This is subject to change at any. As always, pricing is at the sole discretion of our franchisees – I do not dictate their price, however, I do have conversations with them to help ensure that they are price competitive and offer a good value to their consumers. That said, the Valencia franchise has held price since its opening in 2022 while donating money to Santa Clarita Valley schools and students, including a certificate giving all students a Free Kids Meal at the end of the last school year.
Shaquille has loved the LA Market since he signed to play there in 1996. He has been to our Big Chicken store in Valencia and has the deepest respect for both our franchisees and for the Valencia community. Our goal is to ensure that our guests have the best possible food and service while ensuring that the franchisees’ business continues to grow. More to come I’m sure as the California market adjusts to its “new normal” as the FAST Act takes effect.
